Happy Tuesday! Let's have an EVEN better day! (...today scholars go to even periods!)
HOMEWORK CORNER Continue iReady lessons for the week (3 passed by Friday) Advisory: Signed READY Reports due Wednesday (tomorrow) *Vocabulary Quiz Make-up day for NPs will be Thursday at lunch. DUE TODAY - Standards: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text. Objective: SWBAT demonstrate comprehension of The Pedestrian by answering text dependent questions and writing a summary. Do Now- 10 minutes Scholars will receive their vocabulary quiz scores from yesterday. Then, they will complete a silent reflection form. I am asking scholars to spend the Do Now time reflecting on their study habits, preparation, and mindset during the quiz in order to improve the results of the next quiz. Collaborative- Finish questions Scholars will finish answering the remaining guiding questions for The Pedestrian with their partners from yesterday. STATIONS Direct: Scholars in the direct station will receive a mini-lesson on how to write an excellent summary. We will be looking at an exemplar from last week in order to enrich our understanding. After the lesson, scholars in this station will read the story for a third time, then write their summaries of The Pedestrian. Independent: Scholars in the independent station will revisit the story and start writing their summaries for The Pedestrian right away. Once they are finished, these scholars may continue either working on iReady assignments or completing the Achieve Level Set (if they have not completed it already). Comments are closed.
