1. Get syllabus signed!! 2. Study for your vocabulary quiz (Monday) **You are being quizzed on DEFINITIONS DUE TODAY - Standards CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text. Objectives SWBAT explain how The Fun They Had is an example of speculative fiction by writing a level 3/4 CEEEEL paragraph. Do Now- 10 minutes Students will read silently and gather appropriate materials for class. Direct- 15 minutes Ms. Francavillo will introduce the class to today's task: Scholars will be writing a CEEEEL paragraph in response to the question, "How is The Fun They Had an example of speculative fiction?" Scholars will be asked to use evidence from the text to support their claims. We will be going through the rubric and expectations for writing together. Collaborative/Independent Scholars will have an opportunity to gather evidence for their writing by using a graphic organizer. Some scholars will be working in independent, while others will be working with a partner. After completing the graphic organizer, scholars will type their responses into Peer Grade. All responses must be submitted by 9AM for NYU and 11 AM for Eagles. Scholars will then be grading one another anonymously on Peer Grade.
