HOMEWORK CORNER iReady- 3 lessons passed by Friday DUE TODAY Advisory: Signed READY Reports Standards CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.7.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text; provide an objective summary of the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.7.5 With some guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on how well purpose and audience have been addressed. Objective SWBAT explain how The Pedestrian is an example of speculative fiction by writing a level 3/4 CEEEEL paragraph. SWBAT develop and strengthen their writing by giving and receiving feedback on Peer Grade. Do Now- 10 minutes Read silently. Direct- 10 minutes Review of speculative fiction. Introduction to directions and agenda for the day. Independent- 55 minutes Scholars will first complete the CEEEEL graphic organizer to prepare for today's writing prompt: How is "The Pedestrian" an example of speculative fiction? Scholars will have 35 minutes to write their response to the question: How is The Pedestrian an example of speculative fiction? Please note that, while last week's paragraph was not graded, this week's paragraph will be! Collaborative- 35 minutes Scholars will be expected to provide thoughtful feedback to 2 anonymous scholars on Peer Grade. As a class, we will review 2 anonymous pieces on the board and provide feedback.
